High Island - Day 2

High Island - Day 2

Later again participated on Smith Oaks 4pm bird walk, with similar disastrous results. I should've demanded special attention in the first place, should do that next time whenever I'm group birding.
All sanctuaries there are covered by $8 per day(colored paper bracelet), or $30 per year(badge)

Purple Martin! Another rare bird in the West, which is common in the East
Wood Thrush methinks! Saw a migrant at Coachella Valley Preserve-Thousand Palms last May or something
Smith Oaks - Rookery. You have to see to believe it; just astounding! Don't even need a binocular lol, they were so close!

 Cattle Egret
Indigo Bunting during Smith Oaks bird walk
Tricolored Heron in breeding plumage at the Rookery. It's also at Bolsa Chica and San Diego river(SD one might have departed)
 Solitary Sandpiper at the Rookery
Roseate Spoonbill :)  I missed this at Salton Sea - Unit 1 this winter(super rare even there). In breeding plumage, of course
  Just wow!
Great Egret and its chicks!
