Today went, and was with a fellow birder who was touting a 15 pound camera lol(latter chatted a bit. But where did Mr. Dowell-who just spotted 86 species at Peck Park according to e-bird!- go? He was before further back birding). Then 3 trucks approached and a guy told us that they'll be using the road all day, for about a month for cleanup.
Now WHY did I pass up that Pasadena bird trip just recently...ugh. Will have to find all those Warblers elsewhere; MacGillivray, Nashville, Black-throated Gray, Virginia, and even Indigo Bunting, Great Horned Owl and Swainson's Thrush..just my luck.
