ADULT MALE ALTERNATE PLUMAGE CAPE MAY WARBLER AT FAMOSA!

http://ebird.org/ebird/edit/checklist?subID=S37415113

5:30pm today.
Famosa Slough, south end, middle puddle next to hobo tent(it wasn't there last August during the National, not good).
Was being harassed? by House Sparrow, naughty birds! Stayed some time at the puddle, that was curious.

Not only did I spot adult male alternate plumage Bay breasted Warbler, also White-eyed Vireo at Point Loma upper residential area(just opposite Point Loma univ) thanks to prominent SD birder Nancy Christensen..

Checked ebird and alternate plumage one hasn't been seen at So. Cal for at least 10 YEARS! Methinks.
Eh, but what's this:

Cape May Warbler
Singing male (presumably wintered); in tall euc across from Ritz Carlton entrance. Chestnut ear patch, yellow underparts with black streaks.

Emailing everybody I know, all experts. First texted Luke Tiller.

Just can't describe this feeling; so happy now!

  1. Congrats on your find! Any chance this could go on the San Diego Listserv?
