BC satisfied the reputation, found even more shorbirds. Pretty intimate surroundings too. Upper Newport Bay was a disappointment though. Didn't explore too much, but from what I've seen, just about 15 ducks, 1 Egret, and 1 gull flying above lol. And a major portion of the Back Bay drive was closed to traffic. Actually found 2 birds near the parking lot, rather than the lake? itself lol.
San Joaquin was fantastic; the Audubon Center! Had everything, so bought like 4 t shirts lol. Chatted with th staff, Ms. Morita has been birding from 2002, and was inspired to do it by her students lol. And, they went birding to Ecuador recently!!! Jealous.
Buena Vista Audubon was nice too, exhibits were excellent, and the staffs were very kind too! One of'em brooked no opponsition when I said I was havering about Chula Vista; a MUST SEE! She says! Well, I'd have to go then lol, ditching the ITF Qualies from about 11am!
Explored more lagoons, but it was just so-so.
Tomorrow, Santee with Audubon members, and some Gardens.
