At Encanto Park and the adjacent wash.
Not bad, crisp view, smooth focusing wheel, LER is good enough as well, unlike Papilio you don't have to put your eyeglasses right onto the eyecaps. Could follow a female Western Tanager? fast enough in the bushes.
That said, I expected more power, but dunno, not that different from 6 or 7? Well I did spot a buteo? couple far away, but I can spot that with my Canon camera on zoom...Papilio is much more lighter, for convenience..maybe 10 power is better, but dunno if it's suitable for forest birding. Yet one of the veteran birders at Big Bear did use that...you really have to try these for yourself before buying..
